- True story of Tenzing Norgay’s first Everest summit
- Genden Phuntsok, Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe star
- Jennifer Peedom directs the biographical drama
- Streaming on Apple TV from 16 October
Based on true events, the new Apple TV film Tenzing tells the little-known story of the gifted Himalayan climber Tenzing Norgay, who, with New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary, became the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Jennifer Peedom directs a cast led by Genden Phuntsok, Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe, with Thinley Lhamo and Caitríona Balfe also starring.
The trailer sets up Norgay’s fight to convince a British climbing team that he belongs as an equal member rather than a servant. What follows is an ascent shaped as much by clashes of background, class and ambition as by the dangers of the mountain. Running 128 minutes with a 13 age rating, the drama streams on Apple TV from 16 October 2026.
