Revealed as a new generation of the model, the all-new BAYON from Hyundai is a compact SUV with a more upright stance, more cabin space and a wider list of comfort and driver assistance features. A hybrid powertrain will be added to the range in 2027.
Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe, said the BAYON is “much more than an update”, with “a bolder design, more space, more comfort and technologies that customers would normally expect from larger vehicles.”

Bayon exterior design and N Line
The body follows a more angular take on Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language, with defined crease lines, pronounced fenders, a full-width horizontal light signature and a skid plate. Projection LED headlamps with Static Bending Lights sit up front, while black A- and D-pillars, contrasting cladding and a roof rack mark the profile. Wheels of up to 18 inches and a black roof are offered, and the colour range includes three matte finishes: Vibrant Blue Matte, Ice Blue Matte and Fierce Red Matte.
The N Line adds mesh details, lower-bumper winglets, 18-inch N Line wheels, high-gloss black cladding and a rear diffuser with twin exhaust outlets. Its cabin gets cloth and textile suede seats.
Technology and cabin comfort in the Bayon
Hyundai Digital Key 2 lets a compatible smartphone or smartwatch unlock and start the car. Depending on specification, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen pairs with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in a curved layout, alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and an eight-speaker Bose Premium Sound System.
Rear passengers get more legroom, reclining seatbacks and a centre armrest with cupholders, with heated seats and air ducts on some versions. Heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and an openable panoramic sunroof are also available. Hyundai SmartSense includes Highway Driving Assist 2, Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
Bayon dimensions, engines and hybrid plans
The SUV measures 4,245 mm long and 1,810 mm wide on a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Combustion versions are projected to offer 440 litres of luggage space. The 1.0 T-GDI petrol engine is listed with 90 PS and a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with top speeds of 167 to 180 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h in 10.8 to 14.1 seconds across the range.
The hybrid is expected to pair a 1.6-litre GDI engine with an electric motor and six-speed dual-clutch transmission for 138 PS combined, with adaptive regenerative braking adjusted through steering-wheel paddles.

Production and availability
For European markets, the BAYON is built at the Hyundai Motor Türkiye (HMTR) plant. Pricing has not been announced, and specifications and features may vary by version and market.
