Recognition in the Job Creation, Youth Empowerment, NextGen Workforce and Women Empowerment categories has gone to Hyundai Automotive South Africa at the 2026 National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA) Accelerator Awards. The awards were presented at the Durban International Convention Centre during SA Auto Week.
The company also won four awards at the 2025 edition, making this the second consecutive year it has been recognised across multiple categories.

Hyundai employment and community investment
In South Africa, the brand directly employs 2,500 people and supports 12,500 livelihoods. Beyond its own staff, the local operation has invested R10 million in bursaries for employees and their families, built 23 community libraries and gives workplace experience to 150 youth learners each year.
Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa, said empowering young people and women, developing talent and creating sustainable employment “are not simply aspirations. They are key strategic priorities and commitments that must be reflected in what we do every day.”
Apprenticeships across the dealer network
A national apprenticeship programme now has 149 active apprentices, 38 of whom are women, a ratio of 26%. It runs across the company’s 100 dealers nationwide and offers practical technical training and mentorship.
Interest from young people is high. The Youth Employment Service programme attracted 33,000 applications for just 150 positions.

Skills as a priority for the industry
Christine Masinga, Human Resources Director, thanked NAAMSA for the recognition and said developing talent was essential to the future of the motor industry. In her words, the award “reinforces the importance of making transformation an enduring business priority.”
Anderson added that the awards would serve as further motivation, with the firm’s apprenticeship, bursary and youth employment programmes continuing through its dealer network across South Africa.
