- Range-extended SUV on Golden REEV platform.
- 34.3 kWh CATL battery, 150 km electric.
- Combined range of more than 1 000 km.
- 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine as generator.
- Debut at 2026 Beijing motor show.
iCAUR has released details of the V27, a range-extended electric SUV built on its Golden REEV platform. It offers up to 150 km of electric-only range and more than 1 000 km of combined range. The brand describes it as part of its future vision for South Africa, where buyers facing rising fuel prices and limited charging infrastructure may find the petrol-generator layout practical.

iCAUR V27 Golden REEV powertrain
The Golden REEV system uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a thermal efficiency of 45.79%, which converts each litre of fuel into 3.71 kWh of electricity. The engine does not drive the wheels. It works solely as a generator when battery levels are low, while two electric motors provide propulsion.
iCAUR quotes a noise level below 61 dB and a 106 kg reduction in vehicle weight. In all-wheel drive form the V27 runs mainly in rear-wheel drive and brings in the front motor only when more traction is needed, which the brand says cuts energy use by approximately 5% compared with conventional all-wheel drive systems. A 10-in-1 electric drive unit reduces system size by 27% and weight by 21%, and increases power density by 37%.
Battery, range and V2L function
The 34.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is supplied by CATL. Its 150 km electric range is aimed at daily urban commuting with minimal or no fuel use, while the total range of more than 1 000 km allows longer trips with refuelling rather than charging stops.
The V27 also has vehicle-to-load capability delivering up to 6 kW of external power, which can run equipment for outdoor activities, temporary workspaces and other situations where electricity is not available.

iCAUR V27 plans for South Africa
Shannon Gahagan, Head of Brand and Marketing for iCAUR South Africa and OMODA & JAECOO South Africa, said the V27 “brings together electric efficiency, long-range capability and convenience in a way that speaks directly to local consumer needs.” The model will sit in iCAUR’s line-up alongside the V23.
iCAUR will present the V27 and its wider product strategy at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition and the iCAUR International User Summit. Local pricing and a South African launch date have not been announced.
