Bodybuilder Sibusiso Kotelo has joined forces with Jeep South Africa in a partnership linked to the Jeep Gladiator. Kotelo is an IFBB Pro bodybuilder and the first Black South African to earn an IFBB Pro League card.
The brand says the tie-up is meant to reflect the disciplined, resilient and determined spirit it associates with the Gladiator.
Sibusiso Kotelo and the Springboks
Alongside his bodybuilding career, Kotelo serves as the official ‘Impi Warrior’, leading the pre-match entrance for South Africa’s Springbok rugby team and building the gees before each game.
His story started well before the spotlight. It included training sessions before sunrise and seasons when his next meal or competition fee was not guaranteed, yet he kept pursuing his passions and has become a role model for all ages.
Why Jeep chose the Gladiator
Alex Shahini, Brand Communications Manager at Jeep South Africa, said the Gladiator represents freedom, brawn and the capability to always move forward, qualities that mirror Kotelo’s journey from Lamontville in Durban to the world stage and the future he continues to build as a husband and a father of two.
According to Shahini, the Gladiator name itself tells that story, and partnering with the athlete in this phase of his career is “a match made from the toughest conditions.”
Kotelo on the Jeep partnership
For his part, Kotelo framed the arrangement in personal terms. “This partnership isn’t about the badge, but more about the road between the quiet and the noise, and what carries you across it,” he said.
Jeep South Africa says the partnership celebrates commitment, long roads, bold ambition and the resilience to keep going. Followers can track Kotelo’s journey on his @sibusisokotelo Instagram and TikTok accounts and on the @jeep-southafrica Instagram page.
