Jetour Owners Club members in KwaZulu-Natal spent two days learning off-road driving at a 4×4 Adventure Day held earlier this month at the KZN TCON adventure track in Inchange, between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. For owners of the Jetour T1 and T2 XWD, the event offered structured training in how their SUVs’ four-wheel-drive systems work on rough terrain.
The event brought together 30 customers and teams from eight KwaZulu-Natal dealerships. The venue is a training facility with access to the Valley of 1000 Hills and has purpose-built off-road areas for different skill levels.
Jetour T1 and T2 training on the trail
Training covered 4×4 theory, driving modes, vehicle settings, recovery techniques and practical route driving over rocky terrain, loose gravel, steep inclines and descents. According to Jetour, Crawl Control Mode performed particularly well, automatically managing vehicle speed over difficult terrain and giving drivers more control.
Off-road systems on the T-Series XWD
The T1 and T2 XWD derivatives use an intelligent XWD system that automatically distributes power between the front and rear wheels. Crawl control holds a low, controlled speed over demanding terrain so the driver can concentrate on steering, while hill descent control manages braking on steep declines. These derivatives also have a rear differential lock, generous ground clearance and approach and departure angles suited to rough and uneven terrain.
Selectable driving modes adjust how the vehicle responds to different surfaces. These are Standard, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock.
Jetour Owners Club and dealer involvement
The Jetour Owners Club was officially launched last May and gives members access to events, exclusive discounts and tailored deals on merchandise and accessories. Kwazi Ngubane from Jetour South Africa’s Owners Experience Department said the training “gives owners the confidence and skills to fully understand what their vehicle is capable of.”
Dealer teams gained first-hand product knowledge to use when demonstrating the vehicles to customers, along with practical insight into planning and hosting future 4×4 experiences. Regional Sales Manager Saajid Sheik said involving the dealer network “allows dealers to connect directly with customers while showcasing the real-world capability of the Jetour T-Series.”
