JMC has taken part in the 2026 Seven7 Drive, a cross-country journey that supports South African children fighting cancer. The brand joined fellow automotive brands on the drive, which took place during September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and delivered 37 care packages to young patients on its first day alone.

What the Seven7 Drive does
Since 2015, the Seven7 Drive NPO has run an annual drive across South Africa to support children with cancer and raise awareness of childhood cancer. Working with automotive brands, corporate sponsors and volunteers, the organisation visits hospitals and care facilities to deliver comfort packs, essential supplies and moments of joy to affected families.
The 2026 drive crossed seven provinces in seven days, covering 5,000 kilometres through relentless rain, heavy mud and unexpected road closures. Despite the conditions, the team visited eight hospitals.
Day one at Steve Biko Academic Hospital
The trip started on 24 September, Heritage Day, at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria. Nurses dressed in traditional clothing welcomed the convoy, and the team delivered 17 care packages to children in the paediatric oncology ward.
Team members spent time with young patients and their families, sharing encouragement, prayer and conversation. According to JMC, the visits were opportunities to sit with families, hold a hand and share a smile during a difficult chapter of a child’s life.
JMC convoy heads north to Polokwane
From Pretoria, the convoy travelled north to Polokwane, where another 20 care packages were delivered. The team met children facing serious illness and parents dealing with uncertainty, and JMC said the smiles found in those wards became some of the most meaningful moments of the first day.
The organisers note that childhood cancer affects parents, siblings and wider communities, and that many families must travel long distances from home to reach specialised treatment. The drive set out to meet some of those families where they are.

First day totals and what comes next
By the end of day one, 37 care packages had been delivered between Pretoria and Polokwane. This report is the first in a series of seven covering JMC’s participation in the 2026 Seven7 Drive, with further instalments to follow the convoy’s route through the remaining provinces.
