KGM Motors UK, formerly SsangYong, has launched the Musso Commercial range in the United Kingdom. It introduces dedicated two-seat commercial versions of the Musso Rebel and Saracen pick-up models.
The range is aimed at business users who need a work-focused pick-up with a secure load space. In the UK, it is eligible for the 100% write-down allowance and standard commercial vehicle Benefit-in-Kind.
Musso Commercial load space and security
The commercial versions create a secure, van-style load area behind the front seats. This area has a full-height fixed mesh bulkhead, a heavy-duty rubber cargo mat and rear window security mesh. It is intended to carry tools, equipment and other business items.
Musso engine, four-wheel drive and towing
Power comes from KGM’s 2.2-litre diesel engine, which produces 202 PS and 441 Nm of torque. It is paired with selectable 4×4 and low range. The setup is aimed at operators who travel between sites, tow heavy equipment or work in rural, construction and trade environments.
The Musso can tow 3.5 tonnes and carry a payload of up to 1 205 kg. KGM says it can tow a full trailer while carrying its maximum payload. Its gross train weight is 6 450 kg for manual models and 6 750 kg for automatic models. KGM says this gives the Musso the highest overall total load capacity of any pick-up currently on sale in the UK.
UK tax changes behind the Musso Commercial
Kevin Griffin, Managing Director at KGM Motors UK, said business customers in the UK have had to deal with “new tax treatment around double and extended-cab pick-ups, particularly in relation to Benefit-in-Kind, capital allowances and business deductions.” He added that the conversion is “included at no additional cost compared with the equivalent standard Musso model.”
