- Two Porsche units join under one brand.
- Engineering, software and AI services combined.
- Around 2,700 employees in nine countries.
- Launch planned for early second quarter 2027.
Engineering, software, digital and AI expertise from two Porsche subsidiaries will be offered as a single package of end-to-end technology solutions. The international engineering services provider Porsche Engineering and the digital and software unit Porsche Digital are combining under the joint brand Porsche Technologies. Its services are aimed at Porsche, the wider automotive industry and other industrial and technology sectors.

Why Porsche is combining the two units
The new setup responds to the growing convergence of traditional engineering disciplines, software, digital services and customer interfaces, along with rising technological complexity and changing market requirements. Porsche Engineering brings vehicle, architecture, systems and software expertise, while Porsche Digital adds its capabilities in digital products, services and customer experiences.
Existing industrial customers of Porsche Engineering will gain access to the digital capabilities of Porsche Digital. The joint portfolio covers automotive, commercial vehicles, space, maritime systems, defence and medical technology. The business builds on the legacy of the design office founded by Ferdinand Porsche in 1931, from which Porsche Engineering emerged.
Porsche Technologies services from idea to operation
Work will span the full development and product lifecycle, from the initial idea through hardware and software development and validation to the operation of physical and digital products and services. Data and AI technologies are meant to optimise development processes and engineering toolchains and to enable AI-powered products and services.
Dr. Michael Steiner, Deputy Chairman and Member of the Executive Board, Research and Development, Porsche AG, said the aim is to “combine, sharpen, and purposefully advance the best of two worlds”. He added that the unit will continue to play a central role in Porsche’s strategic development activities and in its business with other automotive and industrial customers.
Locations, staff and new brand identity
The company will have around 2,700 employees at locations in Germany, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, Israel, the United States and China, working under a “local-for-local” approach. In China, the joint, integrated R&D hub will continue under the Porsche Technologies brand. A new brand identity based on a geometric square shape, with dynamic graphic elements, accompanies the change.

Leadership and launch date
Markus-Christian Eberl, currently CEO of Porsche Engineering, will become CEO. Stefan Zerweck, now CEO of Porsche Digital, takes the role of CTO, and Dirk Philipp, currently CFO/COO of Porsche Engineering, will serve as CFO/COO. Porsche Technologies is planned to launch at the beginning of the second quarter of 2027.
