Much of the country stays unsettled for the rest of today, with showers and thundershowers spreading across Gauteng, the Free State, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and the Northern Cape, where temperatures will climb into the low twenties. Keep in mind that the South African Weather Service has issued several warnings for moderate severe thunderstorms, so take care if you’re out and about in the affected areas, while Durban sees some slight rain and the Eastern Cape stays cloudy. Cape Town is the pick of the bunch with clear skies and a pleasant high of 25 degrees, and tomorrow looks set to bring more of the same mixed bag across the interior.

Severe Thunderstorms (Warning Level 5), valid until 23:59 on 5 September.
Areas: Daniëlskuil, Kuruman, Barkly West.
- Flooding of roads, settlements and low-lying areas, resulting in closure of some bridges and roads.
- Damages or loss of infrastructure, settlements, vehicles, livelihood and livestock.
- Disruption to municipal and other essential services.
- Disruption and loss of agricultural activities.
- Major travel disruptions.

Do not seek shelter under trees or tall objects. Do not go fishing or play golf as both the golf clubs and fishing rods are a good conductor of electricity. - Flooding of roads, settlements and low-lying areas, resulting in closure of some bridges and roads.
- Displacement of affected communities.
- Danger to life (fast flowing streams / deep water).
- Damage to settlements or structures over a populated area (urban or rural villages)
- Large amounts of small hail over a populated area
- Localised fire incidents.

Wrap up warm and stay dry tomorrow, as showers and thundershowers sweep across Gauteng and the Free State, while rain and drizzle dampen KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. The Western Cape enjoys the sunniest, warmest skies reaching 27°C, whereas chilly Gauteng shivers at a low of just 10°C.
