Chery will hold its International User Summit 2026 at its headquarters in China from 19 to 24 October, bringing together users, media and other stakeholders under the theme “Together. For Family”. For South African buyers, the event points to how the brand intends to present its technology locally, through its effect on everyday driving, family travel and ownership rather than through specifications alone.
The summit builds on Chery’s global “For Family” positioning and reflects a shift towards a people-centric brand strategy, in which owners and families are given more opportunities to share experiences, take part in product discussions and influence future mobility solutions.
Chery parking and hybrid technology demonstrations
Under the “Technology. For Family” pillar, the Chery SIVP Family Experience Camp will recreate school runs, shopping trips and parking in busy environments. Participants will try Chery’s Super Intelligent Valet Parking technology, including assisted parking, vehicle retrieval and automated departure functions.
Chery Super Hybrid (CSH), which combines the brand’s dedicated hybrid engine with its electric hybrid transmission system, will also be demonstrated, along with vehicle-to-load capability for outdoor and family travel. Global media will test drive the new Chery Q, an all-electric model developed with urban lifestyles and younger users in mind.
Chery safety testing in public view
The “Guardian. For Family” pillar centres on the Chery Safety Challenge Camp, which will place vehicles and safety systems in validation scenarios based on real-world family use. A publicly observed full-vehicle crash test will assess structural integrity and occupant protection under specified test conditions, and members of Chery’s Guardian Club from different markets will share their experiences.
Tiggo 7 and Tiggo X7 global debuts
Chery Brand Night and the KOC Forum will feature stories from families and users worldwide. The all-new Tiggo 7 and Tiggo X7 are scheduled to make their global debuts during the programme, introduced through these user stories rather than as standalone reveals. Families selected through Chery’s global Happiness Family campaign will join KOC representatives from several markets.
“Technology has the greatest value when it responds to a real need in someone’s everyday life,” said Verene Petersen, National Marketing Manager at Chery South Africa. She added that the summit gives Chery an opportunity to listen to experiences across different markets.
What the summit means for Chery owners
The 2026 event follows last year’s focus on hybrid technology, intelligent mobility, safety and product innovation, but places more emphasis on real-world value for users. Chery has not yet announced South African details for the Chery Q, Tiggo 7 or Tiggo X7, and further information is expected after the six-day programme concludes on 24 October.
