On the eve of the 2026 Paris Motor Show, FIAT revealed Multiplay, a concept that combines the space of an MPV, the character of an SUV and the functionality of a pick-up in a body 4.45 metres long. It was presented at the Stellantis “Night Before” event by Olivier François, Company Strategic Advisor for Stellantis, and Arnaud Belloni, CEO of the FIAT, Abarth and Lancia brands and Chief Marketing Officer for Europe.

Multiplay Metamorfosi rear module
Central to the design is the C-Pillar ‘Metamorfosi’ architecture. A rear module slides along dedicated guides, changing the vehicle from a 6+1 family configuration into a four-seat pick-up with an open bed for bicycles, sports and outdoor equipment, and bulky items.
The rear spoiler works on the same principle. It rotates to become an integrated bike rack that can carry up to two bicycles in pick-up mode, so no separate external accessory is needed.
Cabin seating, pets and the Sunseat
In family mode, six seats are joined by the ‘Petsenger seat’, a modular unit that can serve as a mounting point for a child car seat, a space for a pet, a small table or a storage compartment. Part of its cushion detaches to become a leash, while a door compartment holds a folding bowl. The rear compartment can take up to two children and even an adult when needed.
Facing backwards and using the dashboard as a backrest, the front passenger seat converts into the ‘Sunseat’, a lounger for use when parked beneath the panoramic roof. Large glass areas and generous side windows let in natural light.
Watermelon colours and a hidden display
Colours draw on the watermelon, with bright green bodywork and red and pink tones inside, plus a soft pink floor and turquoise shades. Most soft parts use monomaterial textile made with a no-stitch 3D knit process that reduces waste, and the kids and pets’ areas get waterproof finishes. A display integrated into the dashboard disappears when the vehicle is switched off.

Multipla heritage and FIAT’s next chapter
The concept follows the 1956 Fiat 600 Multipla, which seated six in around 3.5 metres, and the 1998 Multipla, which offered six seats in under four metres. During the presentation, François symbolically handed the keys to Belloni. “Families’ needs are changing, and this concept allows us to explore solutions that change with them,” said Belloni. FIAT describes Multiplay as a laboratory of ideas for future innovations, not a preview of a specific production model.
